1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") informs you about your choices and our practices regarding your personal data ("Information"). In this Policy, "Persie0", "we", "us", or "our" refers to Marvin Perzi, an individual developer based in Austria, operating under the brand name "Persie0".
This Policy applies to all iOS and Android mobile applications published by Persie0 (collectively the "Apps"), as well as all associated services, websites, or features that we may offer. By downloading, accessing, and/or using our Apps, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and agree to the collection, processing, use, and storage of your Information as described herein.
If you do not agree with this Policy, you must not use any of our Apps. If you change your mind in the future, you must stop using the Apps and can exercise your rights regarding your Information as set out in this Policy.
We are always striving to improve the information we provide to our users. If you have feedback on this Privacy Policy, please let us know via the contact details in Section 22.
2. Data Controller
Within the meaning of applicable data protection laws (including, but not limited to, the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 — the "GDPR" — and the Austrian Data Protection Act ("DSG")), the controller for your personal data is:
We decide why and how your Information is used and are therefore considered a "controller" under the GDPR and equivalent legislation. For certain third-party services integrated into our Apps (e.g., Appodeal for advertising), the third-party providers may act as independent controllers for the data they collect. Please consult their respective privacy policies for further details.
3. Information We Collect
We collect various types of information to provide and improve our Apps. The data we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us, your choices (including your privacy settings), and the features you use. Most data we collect comes directly from you or your device when you use our Apps.

3.2 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from third-party services integrated into our Apps, including:
- Advertising Partners (Appodeal and its demand partners): Advertising ID, information about your interactions with ads shown in our Apps (impressions, clicks, conversions), and inferred interest segments for ad personalization.
- App Store / Platform Providers (Google Play, Apple App Store): Transaction data for in-app purchases, including transaction ID, item purchased, currency, value, and timestamp.
- Analytics Providers: Aggregated or pseudonymized usage reports that help us understand user behavior and optimize features.
3.3 Information Provided Directly by You
We may collect information that you provide directly to us, including:
- Support and Feedback: When you contact us (e.g., via email), we collect your email address, name (if provided), and any other information you provide in your correspondence. We use this data solely to respond to your inquiry.
- User-Contributed Images (Optional): In certain apps (such as Resistor Scanner), you can explicitly choose to share images of recognized resistors with us or manually select an image from your gallery to send to us. We use these images to improve our recognition models and app accuracy.
3.4 Third-Party API Keys (Optional)
Some of our apps may require (for optional parts of the app) you to provide your own API keys from third-party providers (e.g., OpenWeatherMap, Google Gemini, or NVIDIA) to unlock specific features. If you decide to use these features:
- The API keys are stored locally on your device or only used for the duration of the session, depending on the App.
- Communication using these keys occurs directly between your device and the third-party service provider.
- We do not receive or collect any data from these third-party providers. Your interaction is exclusively between you and the respective third-party service.
4. Use of Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
4.1 Providing and Maintaining Our Apps
We use your Information to provide the core functionality of our Apps, including processing GPS data for location-based features, maintaining your settings, and ensuring technical compatibility with your device.
4.2 Improving and Optimizing Our Apps
It is in our legitimate interest to improve our Apps for our users. We analyze usage patterns, feature engagement, session data, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, develop new features, and optimize existing functionalities. We may also use anonymized and aggregated data for product development and research.
4.3 Personalized Advertising
Our Apps are advertising-funded. Subject to your consent (where required by law), we serve personalized advertising through our advertising partner Appodeal. This involves sharing certain device identifiers (GAID/IDFA), IP address, and usage data with Appodeal and its demand partners so they can show you interest-relevant ads and measure ad performance. You can object to personalized advertising at any time — see Section 6 for details.
4.4 Diagnostics, Stability, and Troubleshooting
We use Sentry to collect crash reports and diagnostic data in real-time. This helps us quickly identify, investigate, and fix bugs, crashes, and performance issues, ensuring a stable and reliable experience for all users.
4.5 Security and Fraud Prevention
We process information such as IP addresses and device identifiers to detect, prevent, and address fraud, unauthorized access, and other illegal or harmful activities that may affect our Apps or users.
4.6 Legal Compliance
We may process your Information as necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests; enforce our terms of use and other agreements; protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
4.7 Communication
If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond to your questions, inquiries, or complaints. We do not use your email address for marketing or unsolicited communication.
5. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR to process your personal data:
Where you have given us your explicit consent for a specific purpose. This applies especially to: (i) the delivery of personalized advertising based on your Advertising ID and usage data (via Appodeal); (ii) the collection and processing of precise GPS location data for location-based features. Consent for Appodeal is managed through an integrated Consent Management Platform (CMP). You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
Where processing is necessary for our legitimate interests, provided these are not overridden by your interests or fundamental rights. Our legitimate interests include: (i) operating and growing our business; (ii) ensuring app stability and performance (via Sentry, applying data minimization/IP masking); (iii) security and fraud prevention; (iv) conducting analytics to understand usage. You have the right to object — see Section 14.
Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation to which we are subject, such as responding to valid legal requests from courts or authorities or retaining records as required by tax or commercial law.
Where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party. This applies to providing the core functionalities of our Apps and processing in-app subscriptions and purchases (via RevenueCat).
6. Advertising
Our Apps are free to download and use. To support development and maintenance, our Apps display advertisements served by our advertising partner Appodeal.
6.1 How Advertising Works in Our Apps
When you use our Apps, non-personal identifiers such as the Google Advertising ID (GAID) on Android and/or the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS, along with other device and usage data, may be collected and shared with Appodeal and its network of demand partners (including, but not limited to, AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads, ironSource, and others integrated via the Appodeal mediation platform).
6.2 Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads
With your consent (where required), Appodeal and its partners may use the collected data to create a profile of your preferences based on your activity and show you ads tailored to your interests ("personalized ads"). If you do not provide consent or withdraw it, you will still see ads in our Apps, but these will be non-personalized (i.e., not based on your behavioral profile or interests).
6.3 How to Opt Out of Personalized Advertising
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by adjusting your device settings:
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ad Personalization."
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track", or Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → disable "Personalized Ads."
You can also reset your Advertising ID in the settings mentioned above. Please note that opting out does not reduce the number of ads but only their relevance to you.
6.4 Appodeal Privacy Policy
Appodeal acts as an independent controller for the personal data it collects via its SDK integrated into our Apps. For detailed information on how Appodeal collects, uses, processes, and shares your data, please read the Appodeal Privacy Policy.
7. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted third-party service providers to support us in operating and improving our Apps. These third parties may collect information used to identify you. Each third-party provider operates under its own privacy policy.
Provider: Appodeal Inc., 1640 Boro Place, 4th Floor, McLean, VA 22102, USA.
Appodeal provides advertising mediation services connecting our Apps to ad networks. Displaying personalized ads (or accessing the device) requires your active consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and local equivalents. This is collected via a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) that strictly implements the TCF v2.3 protocol to cryptographically exclude non-compliant "Ghost Vendors". We provide granular privacy settings (e.g., via a "Pay-or-Okay" model) and do not force users into an all-or-nothing consent before runtime trackers become active. Data collected includes device identifiers (GAID/IDFA), IP address, and usage data. Data transfer to the USA is secured via Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Privacy Policy: https://www.appodeal.com/home/privacy-policy/
Provider: Functional Software, Inc., 45 Fremont Street, 8th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA.
To actively monitor technical processes and system stability, we use the error analysis service Sentry, acting as our Data Processor. If an application crashes or an error occurs, diagnostic data is sent to help us resolve the issue. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in the smooth functioning of our software. For strict data minimization, we use mandatory "Data Scrubbing": sensitive user data (especially IP addresses) is automatically filtered out and masked before it ever reaches the servers.
EU Data Residency: Sentry provides an EU residency option. Your data is processed and stored on Sentry servers within the European Union (Frankfurt am Main, Germany) to ensure the highest data protection standards.
Data Transfer to the USA: To the extent that data is processed in the USA, we rely on two key mechanisms for secure transfer:
- EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF): Sentry is an active participant in this framework, which has been approved by the European Commission for secure data transfers.
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC): Additionally, the company uses Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the EU Commission, in which Sentry bindingly commits to maintaining the strict EU level of data security.
You can view Sentry’s Data Processing Addendum (DPA), including the SCCs, at https://sentry.io/legal/dpa/. Further details can be found in Sentry’s Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat helps us manage in-app subscriptions, purchase validation, and track aggregated business analytics such as total customer metrics and monthly recurring revenue (MRR) (legal basis: contract fulfillment and legitimate interest according to Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Pseudonymized purchase histories are tracked. RevenueCat acts strictly as our data processor. Data transfers to the USA are legally secured, as RevenueCat is certified under the current EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and also applies Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
We use Google Drive for the internal management of business data and feedback, and as an optional service for you to backup and synchronize your application data (Cloud Sync) across devices (Legal basis: contract fulfillment and legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Depending on the server location, data may be transferred to the USA. Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and uses Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Firebase Authentication allows secure login and user account management (Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Data transfer to the USA is secured via the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF) and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Privacy Policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Allows login using your Google account. We only receive basic data like name and email address. You can revoke access in your Google account security settings (Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) or (f) GDPR). Secured via DPF and SCCs.
Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Provider: Apple Inc., One Apple Park Way, Cupertino, CA 95014, USA.
Allows login using your Apple ID. We receive basic data such as name and (optionally) your email address. Transfer to the USA is secured via Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Our Apps are distributed through Google Play (Google LLC) and the Apple App Store (Apple Inc.). These platforms process transaction data according to their own terms.
10. International Data Transfers
We are based in Austria. However, the third-party services we use (like Appodeal, Sentry, and RevenueCat) are headquartered in the United States and other countries outside the EEA/UK. This means your Information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home country.
Where we transfer personal data outside the EEA, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as:
- Adequacy Decisions: Transfers to countries recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection.
- Data Privacy Framework (DPF): Using the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified American providers.
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): Using standard data protection clauses approved by the European Commission.
11. Data Retention
We retain your Information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, as described in this Policy, or as required by law (e.g., for tax or accounting purposes). When the processing purpose no longer exists or the retention period expires, data is either deleted or anonymized.
11.1 In-App Account Deletion & Platform Requirements (Apple / Google)
In compliance with Apple's strict guidelines, we provide a direct, in-app function to delete your account for any App that offers account creation. When you trigger this deletion, we do not merely delete your profile on our end; we also instruct our data processors (specifically RevenueCat and Sentry) to permanently erase all associated user data.
Furthermore, the statements made in this Privacy Policy mirror precisely the information provided in the "Data Safety" form on the Google Play Console. This ensures complete transparency regarding data storage for analytics and advertising, thereby preventing any risk of App suspension.
12. Entire Agreement
This Privacy Policy constitutes the entire agreement between you and Persie0 regarding the processing of your personal data. Any previous agreements or understandings are superseded by this Policy.
13. Data Security & TLS/HTTPS Encryption
The security of your data is important to us. We strive to protect your personal information from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
13.1 Measures We Take
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures (in accordance with Art. 25 GDPR) and follow industry-standard best practices to protect the confidentiality and integrity of your Information. These include:
- TLS Encryption with HTTPS: To ensure that data transmitted over the internet is secure from eavesdropping, we use state-of-the-art encryption. You can recognize this by the "https://" prefix and the padlock icon in your browser bar. This ensures that no third party can read confidential information.
- Access Controls: We restrict access to personal information to those who have a legitimate business need for it.
- Secure Infrastructure: Our third-party service providers (Sentry, Appodeal) maintain SOC 2 compliant or equivalent security programs.
- Minimization: We only collect the minimum data required for the purposes stated in this Policy.
13.2 Limitations
While we make every effort to protect your Information, no method of transmission over the internet or mobile networks is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data transmitted to our Apps, and any such transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your Information, we use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorized access.
14. Your Data Protection Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, you have the following rights regarding your personal data under the GDPR and equivalent legislation. You can exercise these rights at any time by contacting us at persie0@protonmail.com.
You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, confirmation of whether your data is being processed, details on how and why it is used, and details of the safeguards in place if we transfer your data outside the EEA. We reserve the right to request reasonable proof to verify your identity before providing any data.
You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal data we hold about you or the completion of incomplete data.
You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data under certain circumstances (e.g., if the data is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected or if you withdraw your consent). We may need to retain some information if valid legal reasons exist (e.g., for legal defense, fulfillment of legal obligations). If data is stored by a third-party controller (e.g., Appodeal), we will take reasonable steps to inform them of your request, but we also recommend contacting them directly.
You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data under certain circumstances (e.g., while we verify the accuracy of your data or if you have objected to the processing).
You have the right to receive a copy of the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format or to request that we transmit it directly to another controller, where technically feasible. This right only applies if the processing is based on your consent or a contract and is carried out by automated means.
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests as a legal basis. We will consider any valid objection and cease processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or we need to process the data for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. You also have the absolute right to object to direct marketing at any time.
Where we rely on your consent to process your data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. This includes consent for personalized advertising and the collection of GPS location data. You can withdraw consent via your device settings or by contacting us. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Austria, the competent authority is the Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria (www.dsb.gv.at). You can also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your habitual residence or place of work.
We will respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take longer if your request is particularly complex or you have made multiple requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated. We may request information required to confirm your identity before responding to requests.
15. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
The provisions of this section apply to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020) ("CCPA"). For the purposes of this section, "Personal Information" has the meaning defined in the CCPA and does not include publicly available, de-identified, or aggregated information.
15.1 Categories of Personal Information Collected
In the past 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information through your use of our Apps:
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | IP address, device identifiers, Advertising ID (GAID/IDFA), unique internal user ID | Directly from your device; third-party partners |
| Internet/Network Activity | App usage data, feature interactions, ad impressions and clicks, session data | Directly from your device; analytics and advertising partners |
| Geolocation Data | Precise GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude); city-level location derived from IP address | Directly from your device |
| Inferences | Interest profiles created by advertising partners based on usage and ad interaction data | Third-party advertising partners (Appodeal) |
15.2 Use of Personal Information
We collect personal information for the purposes described in Section 4 of this Policy: to operate the Apps, serve advertising, perform diagnostics, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
15.3 Sale / Sharing of Personal Information
We do not "sell" your personal information in the traditional sense (i.e., for money). However, under the broad definition of the CCPA, sharing identifiers (such as Advertising IDs) with advertising partners for the purpose of serving targeted advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You have the right to opt out of this practice — instructions for adjusting your device settings can be found in Section 6.3.
15.4 Your Rights Under CCPA
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights:
- Right to Know: You can request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources from which they were collected, the business purpose for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to Delete: You can request the deletion of your personal information collected by us, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., legal compliance, security).
- Right to Correct: You can request the correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: You can object to the "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising by adjusting your device privacy settings.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights (e.g., by charging a different price, providing a different level of service, or denying goods or services).
15.5 Exercising Your Rights
To make a verifiable request for access, deletion, or correction of your personal information, please send us an email at persie0@protonmail.com. We will verify your identity by asking you to provide information that we can match with our records (e.g., device information, approximate date of first use). We strive to fulfill all verified requests within 45 days, with an extension of up to 45 additional days if necessary, accompanied by an explanation of the delay.
15.6 Do Not Track
There is no generally accepted standard for responding to "Do Not Track" browser signals. We currently do not respond to such signals.
15.7 Shine the Light
We do not rent, sell, or share personal information with non-affiliated companies for their direct marketing purposes within the meaning of California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code § 1798.83), unless you have given your consent.
16. Children's Privacy
Our Apps are not directed to children under 16 years of age (or 13 years in jurisdictions where this is the applicable age limit), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. We do not knowingly serve interest-based advertising to individuals under the age of 13.
If you are under 16 years of age, we strongly recommend that you obtain permission from a parent or guardian before using our Apps. You should also read this Policy together with your parents so that they can help you understand anything you may not understand.
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under the appropriate age (16 in the EEA; 13 in the USA), we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child may have submitted personal information to us without your consent, please contact us at persie0@protonmail.com and we will delete such data immediately.
17. Webhosting and Server Log Files
In order to provide our online presence and the web pages integrated into the Apps (such as this Privacy Policy) securely and with high availability, we use specialized hosting services.
Provider: GitHub Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.
We use GitHub Pages to host our websites. As soon as you access our website, your device automatically connects to GitHub's servers.
For security reasons, certain connection data is inevitably collected in so-called server log files. These include:
- The requesting IP address
- Browser and operating system used
- Time and exact URL of the request
- Referrer URL (the website from which you came to us)
This technical processing is not carried out to create user profiles but is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in ensuring error-free and secure operation of the website (e.g., protection against cyber attacks).
Data transfer to the USA: GitHub partially processes server requests in the USA. To ensure a level of data protection equivalent to that of the EU for the transmitted data, GitHub has implemented binding contractual works. The most important legal basis for the transfer of data to third countries (such as the USA) is the official Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC according to Art. 46(2) and (3) GDPR) of the European Commission. By using these Standard Contractual Clauses, it is contractually guaranteed that your data will be protected in the USA according to European standards.
You can read GitHub's Data Protection Agreement at this link. Further details on general data handling can also be found in the GitHub Privacy Statement.
18. Data Processing Agreement (DPA)
We often do not provide our services in isolation, but for reasons of efficiency and security, we rely on highly specialized service providers (for example, in the areas of cloud infrastructure, payment processing, or analytics). However, we never give up full control.
If such a service provider processes your personal data for us as instructed, it is referred to as a Processor according to the GDPR. We may only carry out this data transfer and external processing if a so-called Data Processing Agreement (DPA) according to Art. 28 GDPR has been signed. This contract forces the processor to apply identical security standards as we do, to fully guarantee data protection, and not to misuse your data for their own purposes.
19. Communication
If you wish to contact us, you generally have email or – depending on the offer – telephone or online forms at your disposal. In this context, you voluntarily transmit data to us such as your name, your email address, your telephone number, or other content contained in the message.
We store and use this information provided by you exclusively for the purpose of answering your inquiry, being able to process follow-up questions, or providing support. After completion of your request, the data will be deleted in a timely manner, unless we are legally forced to keep it longer (for example, for tax or commercial purposes).
The legal bases for this communication, depending on the situation, are your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in a careful and complete response to your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
20. Definitions
- Personal Data: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
- Processing: Any operation performed on personal data, such as collection, storage, adaptation, or disclosure.
- Controller: The natural or legal person who determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.
- Processor: A natural or legal person who processes personal data on behalf of the controller.
21. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Policy in the Apps or on our website. You are advised to review this Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
22. Contact & Complaints
If you have any questions or concerns about this Policy or our data practices, please contact us:
If you are located in the EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Austria, the competent authority is the:
Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde
Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, Austria
Email: dsb@dsb.gv.at
Website: www.dsb.gv.at
We will endeavor to resolve any issue you have directly, and we encourage you to contact us first.
